Hi, I’m Sarah, the heart behind the lens
About me: I’m a quiet observer with a wild heart.
I’m the kind of person who finds magic in muddy paws, tangled manes, and soft glances that say more than words ever could.
Half explorer, half homebody, I’m most alive when I’m out in nature, camera in hand, heart wide open.
More than anything, I love capturing the unspoken connection between animals and their people, the trust, the stillness, the spark.
Big emotions. Tiny details. That’s where the real story lives.
My Journey into Photography
A love for animals, a longing to remember
I’m Sarah — Belgian-born, Abu Dhabi-based, photographer and designer… but more than that, I’m a quiet storyteller of the connections that run deeper than words.
Since I was a little girl, I’ve felt two constant pulls: one toward animals, the other toward preserving fleeting moments. Even though I was allergic to most of them, I couldn’t stay away — my childhood was filled with hamsters, water turtles, and eventually Poetsie, the cat who still curls up beside me today.
At seven, I held my first compact camera. I didn’t know what I was doing, but I knew how it felt — the thrill of freezing time, the joy of seeing something small become lasting. I never really stopped chasing that feeling.
Years later, a friend invited me to photograph her during a show jumping event. I remember the dust, the rhythm of hooves, the quiet tension before the leap — and I remember knowing, this is it. That day opened a door into a world where my two great loves could meet: animals and storytelling.
Now, my camera is the bridge.
Between you and your horse.
Between a memory and the moment it was born.
Between what you feel… and what you can hold onto forever.
The one that started everything
But everything changed in 2018.
That’s when I stood — nervous but hopeful — at a workshop led by my idol, Ellen Sonck.
Her warmth, her honesty, her way of seeing what others missed… it stirred something deep in me.
For the first time, someone I admired looked at my work and said, “You’ve got something.”
That was the moment I stopped doubting.
I invested in my first DSLR camera, heart pounding.
And just like that, the quiet dream I’d carried for years began to take shape —
not as a hobby, but as a calling.
My Philosophy
I believe every animal carries a story in their eyes —
and every bond holds a quiet kind of magic that deserves to be seen.
My sessions aren’t rushed or rigid.
They’re built on patience, intuition, and trust —
so your animal can simply be, and you can let go of the pressure to perform.
Because this isn’t just about photos.
It’s about capturing how it felt to be loved by them.
That look. That nuzzle. That moment when everything else faded away.
