Animal Photography Locations in Abu Dhabi: Where Should We Have Your Photoshoot?

Choosing the right location for an animal photoshoot can make a surprisingly big difference.

The location doesn’t just become the background of your photographs. It can influence the light, the atmosphere, how your animal behaves, and ultimately the feeling your photographs have.

Living and working in Abu Dhabi means we’re lucky to have plenty of beautiful places to choose from. From open desert landscapes and beaches to quieter outdoor spaces and horse stables.

But there isn’t one perfect location for every photoshoot.

The best place depends on your animal, the kind of photographs you’re dreaming of, and the story you want your photographs to tell.

There’s something special about photographing animals in the desert.

The open landscape gives horses and dogs plenty of space to move, while the simplicity of the surroundings keeps the focus where it belongs on you and your animal.

The desert can be particularly beautiful around golden hour, when the softer light creates warmth and depth in the photographs.

For horse photography, the desert can create those timeless, almost cinematic portraits. For dogs, it can be a wonderful setting for movement, running and playful photographs.

And for many expats living in Abu Dhabi, the desert is also more than just a beautiful location. It’s part of the experience of living here, making it a meaningful place to create memories with an animal you love.

I want your dog to have space to be themselves.

The goal isn’t to make your dog behave like a model.

Sometimes the best location is simply home.

If your horse is happiest at the stable, there’s no reason we need to take them somewhere else just because it looks different.

Your stable can tell part of their story too.

We can photograph the little details, getting ready, grooming, walking to the paddock, resting together and those quiet moments that happen between the bigger photographs.

This can be particularly meaningful if you’ve spent years building a relationship with your horse there.

When we’re photographing you and your horse together, I don’t want the photographs to feel overly staged.

The location can help with that.

A familiar stable, an open field, the desert or another place where you and your horse already feel comfortable can give us opportunities to capture your relationship naturally.

Sometimes that means looking at the camera.

Sometimes it means walking together.

And sometimes it’s simply a quiet moment between the two of you.

Those in-between moments are often my favourites.

There isn’t one answer.

When you book a session with me, we’ll choose a location based on your animal and what you want from your photographs.

For some dogs, that might be the beach.

For others, a familiar park will work much better.

For horses, we might choose the desert, a stable, an open outdoor space or somewhere that has a personal meaning to you.
